A Rich History
Built in 1914, the Country Life Hotel is a warm, friendly country pub that recalls a simpler time. Located near the historic town of Pomona and Lake Cootharaba, out hotel was built a decade after the installation of the road across the ranges to serve the timber industry. It follows the classic Australian style of weatherboard pubs, with wide colonial verandahs and a corrugated iron roof.
Part pub, part museum, the Country Life hotel is important to the region’s history and features a display of timber industry photos and historical memorabilia — or puborobilio — from the 1900s.

Ian Kidd purchased the Country Life Hotel in 2006 after falling in love with it at his first visit. He painstakingly restored the hotel to its former glory, adding the barn and garden for your enjoyment.
About Our Location
Kin Kin is located in the hinterland of the Sunshine Coast in QLD, just over half an hour from Noosa. The name ‘Kin Kin’ is an Aboriginal word for the black ants in the area, which are so prolific they were named twice!
Originally a timber area valued for its stunning eucalyptus and cedar trees; it's now home to artists and the Living Valley Springs Health Retreat. Hikers, horse riders, and nature lovers are drawn to the area because of its natural beauty.
